Understanding how it works - the stigma of dietingOct 19, 2021
You don’t want or need to be dieting for your entire life!
SOME PEOPLE THINK OF DIETING as a way to lose weight. I believe that the only “weight” you should ever be trying to lose is your guilt and shame about being overweight.
Have a plan, hit the goal, get out of the deficit, enjoy your body and learn to maintain it.
Your weight loss goal should be to make your life easier, not harder. If you are out of shape and want to become more fit, then start by finding a good fitness instructor who can help you build the right foundation. Your goals should always be based on what is best for you!
What’s the problem here?
First of all, you should be aware that the word “diet” has a negative connotation and people think that it means deprivation. Secondly, diets usually involve some kind of restriction (usually food and calorie) and this is not good for your body as it takes away metabolism from its natural ability to burn fat. Finally, you should not try to “starve” your body of food and restrict calories.
To some women, the idea of dieting comes with a stigma of being unhealthy or unproductive. Instead of dieting, some women might decide to simply eat less or not eat at all. This can be an easy way to try and lose weight in the short term but it also has some drawbacks. If you have an active lifestyle, being on a diet may not be the best option for you. This is because it can cause you to lose your motivation to work out or exercise. It also could lead to binge eating which will only put back onto your weight loss goals if done properly
You don’t address the habits or mindset you need to achieve the outcome. When you’re dieting, you need to understand that it takes time and effort to reach your goals. You have to put in the work, so why not do something about your habits? For example, if you are eating too much or late at night when your body is trying to sleep, you need to change your habits.
No one teaches you how to maintain the results once the diet is over 🤦🏼♀️ . There are many ways to lose weight, but it is also important to understand how you can maintain the results after the diet. A lot of people who try diets do not know what they should be doing after their diet is over.
The first step to success with any type of nutrition or fitness program is to understand how it works. A diet can be great if you are able to follow it properly, but if you do not know what else to do after the diet, then it could backfire on you. You need to learn how this will work for your body and mind as well
